The most important yes

Last summer, I occasionally worked cleaning houses before people moved into them.  One day, I took our laptop so I could listen to an audio talk.  The talk is called Christ-like Mothering by Jenny Phillips.  What a phenomenal talk!  I think I listened to it 4 times in a row that day.

There was one line in it that pierced my heart.  She quoted Patricia Holland saying, "The most important "yes" we can say to our children is "Yes, I have time for you."

Wow!  That quote has changed the way I mother my two beautiful girls.  I have a 4 year old and a one year old, and they don't care about the dishes and laundry being done, or the errands run, or if the floor is vacuumed or not.  These precious little spirits need a snuggle, a hug, a story, me getting down and playing with them.  They want to hear my testimony and know how much I love them.

Over the Christmas break, I did a lot of driving with my girls.  On a trip from Salt Lake to Star Valley, I was hoping the girls would both fall asleep so I could have a break from Lydia's endless questions (she is 4 years old).  Honestly, I just wanted to be able to put on a book on cd and concentrate on it instead of the run of questions about anything and everything.  Lydia (and Heavenly Father) had a different plan for me.  Lydia wanted to talk about Jesus' miracles.  She had learned some in primary and wanted to hear about more of them.  For a sweet hour and a half, we told each other about every single miracle we could think of.  It was a powerful trip for me - the spirit was so strong in our car.  I am SO thankful that I was able to put my selfish desires on hold (listening to what I thought I wanted to listen to) in exchange for a really sweet teaching/learning time with my little girl.

I have this design available in my etsy shop.  I can do any color you want - these are some of the ones I particularly like. :)  The most important Yes
